Richard is celebrating his 30th year in the industry this year, having started in 1978 driving a taxi in Columbia, SC at a company that did all the local Courier and Air Courier work. After 3 years of driving and dispatching there, Richard moved to Denver where he became an IC for Air Couriers International (later to become SonicAir and later to become UPS Supply Chain Solutions). In 1985, Richard started Front Range Couriers with a two week notice and $60, which today has evolved into ParcelTek. ParcelTek currently utilizes about 100 employees and IC's to deliver On-Demand, Overnight Distribution, Critical Parts, and Line Haul Services. Richard runs ParcelTek with his wife Mary Ann, who holds down the operations. They have two great girls, one in College, and on in Middle School, who both swear they will not be drawn into the Courier Industry!
